ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM DEVLOPMENT

Environmental audit of buildings, industry, cities, has been buzzword for quite some time, however in a healthcare facility, it has yet to be known.

Though the Bio-Medical Waste Management laws were one of the first to be enacted, before the industrial hazardous waste and municipal solid waste or waste water laws are now over a decade old. Total environmental audit of a healthcare facility envisages more nascent laws – over a dozen by now in their enlightened totality.

Objectives:  

The primary objective of “Internal Environmental Audit” remains remedying the occupational hazards in our working environment and to meet the statutory guidelines for our common good. And eventually prepare a roadmap for ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, carbon neutral hospital and green governance.
